The general state of today’s construction industry is outdated, inefficient, and harmful. Adam and Eve built with a hammer and nail and we have failed to evolve from this ancient practice. Most of the items we own today are made in a factory, but we are still hand making buildings. Labor consumes about 50% of the cost of a construction process. Construction is generally very time consuming and unpredictable. In the USA alone, several thousand people die each year in construction-related accidents. Also, construction is very wasteful and is the #1 waste contributor to landfills. There has not been much innovation in construction.
